Only the Brave – Poem

In My Writing, Poetry by Paul MacklinLeave a Comment

Only the brave
may sail their souls
on unchartered seas,
and should they return
to say what they have seen
perhaps then, then
will others sail
between the
ragged rocks
that split the
cerulean sea
in crumbled
ebony
dreams.

Only the brave
may sell their souls
to deserted beach
and should they survive
to say what they have seen
perhaps then, then,
will others lay their seed on
forgotten lands
lost out in
impenetrable sea
amidst
sea kissed
greens.

Only the brave
as brave as they may be
can run their hearts ashore
and stand the test of time
in a crucible of love.
Only the brave.
Only the brave.
